Want to be at your very best at work and at home?  Here are simple and key ways to enhance your health, safety,
personal leadership and wellbeing. Everyday,  notice which of these items you are doing. Try something new!  Notice
how you feel!  Items with a star (*) are top priority when you are in a stressful moment and need quick relief!

1.        *TAKE A BREATH!  Simply by allowing yourself to breathe fully you can release stress, fuel your body with oxygen and
energize your organs.  It is essential!  It makes you more alert and responsive to your environment.  It gives you an emotional sense
of freedom to express yourself and take in life.  To improve your breathing and increases your sense of personal power, balance and
vitality, straighten your posture.  Slouching is associated with feelings of helplessness and as much as 30% loss of oxygen and blood
flow to your brain and other organs!

2.
*TAKE FIVE minutes to get centered! Take a quiet time away from TV, computers and distractions.  Listen to a guided
imagery. Meditate. Gaze out at a river going by.  Close your eyes and simply focus on the feeling of your breathing.   Then, imagine a
column of pure positive energy flowing down the center of your body which feels supportive and calming.   Taking a quiet centering
moment promotes chemical balance and healing in your body, lifts your mood and, clears and strengthens your mind.  Once you are
centered, pause to
clearly identify your intentions.  Going into any situation clear about what you intend makes you more calm,
focused and successful
!

3.
*BE POSITIVE ON PURPOSE in order to give yourself more energy and a quick mood lift.  The habit of being positive
actually strengthens your body,  resourcefulness, interpersonal skills, and resilience.  Science shows us that people with positive
attitudes  live longer, heal faster,  are more creative and have better relationships..

4.
MOVE YOUR BODY!  GET UNSTUCK!    Cannot solve a problem?  Feel tired?  Get up out of your chair, exercise,
jog, dance or walk to strengthen your body, and to increase flexible thinking and your resilience to stress!  Exercise increases the
norepinephrine in your body increasing coping ability, oxygen to the brain and organs, and emotional flexibility.  Lower levels of
norepinephrine are associated with feelings of overwhelm, helplessness and low tolerance for adversity
